NOTE 1: The following entries will be brief and quick. There may be massive amounts of information that i leave out - for brevity purposes - but will return to fill in the missing pieces.
NOTE 2: When I use the word "god", it is in reference to any deity from any denomination. Just fill in the blanks with your religion.
For the sake of argument. I'll keep this simple. People use prayer for many things. From money, to saving a life. To stupid stuff like winning a ball game. As stated in HLF (the Hidden Life Force), things happen for a reason. If a ball is held in the hand then dropped to the ground (just a couple feet for all you technicality minded people). It will fall straight down and hit the floor. Nothing magical. Life is like that. Like that ball - we are already set in motion. We are constantly moving from point A (the hand) to point B(the ground). When you pray - you are simply asking some outside force (god?) to intervene and change the course of that ball. But in doing so, it would disrupt life itself. My belief is that things are already "pre-destined". From the moment the universe came in to existance, THAT was when the ball was let go.
My wife asked me the other day to pray with her in hopes that the results of a personal issue would come to pass. I asked her "... do you believe that things happen for a reason". Like most people presented with that question, her answer was "Yes".
"Then why pray?" I responded. Whether it be your god or just fate, if you believe things happen for a reason, then the results you seek from a prayer, is pointless because it will happen regardless if you pray or not.
Lets try something silly. Just to prove a point. "SCRATCH AND WIN" cards. Sold at most convience stores.
MODE: GOD:
Usually goes something like this. "dear god, pluuueeeeez make this one a winer". (First of all most religions do not condone the worship of money, so there is the first sin - but lets forget about that right :P) Now from a philosophical point of view: Lets say its a winner. What that means is that "god" made it so the right amount of people grabbed all the loosing tickets, and that you were placed at that point in time, at that precise moment to pull that winning ticket.
Question: Did you NEED to pray? Was it going to be a winner anyways because of the circumstances? Many question come of this scenario, and you can use it on a larger scale too. Death?
MODE: HLF
Same scenario. But one small change. Life is not shut off because of money. It is what it is. If the ticket you got was a winner, then it was because you were supposed to win. and vs versa. You can pray all you want, point is. No prayer is 100% answered that way you want. No praying nessasary.
Which leads to a sticky topic, but one that needs to be addressed when it comes to praying. Think of ANY catastrophe. Doesnt matter. Just pick one. One where some people died, or many. Of those people that died, or WERE dying, OR family KNEW they may die - Of the religious ones: Do you think they prayed to "god" asking for life? Asking for a miracle? How about a murder? Do you think the victim prayed for help? If your answer is YES. Then there is a problem with religion.
MODE: GOD
THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DIE. Yes, read that again and again. Your god - condemed them. They were all supposed to be there at that point in time. For what ever reason (you the song - sing along - "god works in mysterious ways"). Because if not, they would not have been there.
MODE: HLF.
The only difference here is that death is accepted as is. That it is out of our control because of how life is set in motion. No magical being will swoop down and protect those we love from a hurricane or whatever force of nature (man made or otherwise). We know that when people die, for what ever reason, it is because that is how THEIR life is meant to be. The path that was chosen for them. We dont like it. But we cannot change it.
As you can see - praying makes no difference in the out come. It DOES however server one pupose. To give those a piece of mind. A sense of hope. Yet, It will not change what is to happen.

Introduction
At the request of my wife, I made this blog. She is alway asking me what I believe in. To make things simple, I used to tell her I was atheist. However, within time, that did not suffice. But instead of leaning toward agnostic - I spent time, slowly, explaining to her what I believe in and its process. Over the years, she liked what I had to say, and thought it would be a good idea to bring it to black and white. So Here it is.
Everything will be constantly updated (even this introduction). So check back regularly. Somethings you may not like, others you may. Feel free to post to this blog on your opinions, as well as questions. you may be surprised at the answer(s).
